It's been so long since my last indoor outfit post! Oh boy, I was not expecting the rain yesterday morning as I stepped out with tripod in tow. Oh well, I just took a few snaps of my outfit before leaving work and that was it. The Tom Petty concert was so fun! Like I was saying, it's been a while since I got the full concert experience so I was pretty excited! I even got Nickie to get there for the opening act, Buddy Guy, just so that I could sit there and take it all in. I'm kind of goofy like that. Well, I'm happy it's Friday and as you read this I'm probably off to a super secretphoto shoot! Yeah, I'm sorry to have to to that to you but in time you'll find out what it's about. Pinky Swear. { I'll start posting my monthly reads in a seperate post like this at the end of each month so you can keep track of them } This month, despite feeling busy, I somehow managed to read three books. I blame it on the extra time commuting into the city ever since my express N train decided to run local. Here are my July reads: Wonderful Tonight I got this book from Nickie and I have to say it was a pretty good and super quick read. Pattie Boyd, model of the 60's married George Harrison, then when that crumbled, left him for Eric Clapton. She retells her stories of living in Africa, becoming a model, and then having to live through 2 troubled marriages. The Girl's guide to Hunting & Fishing I was always wondering what this book was about since the title is kind of obscure. When I saw it at the Salvation Army for a buck, I said, why not? it's about a girl's journey as a book editor in the big apple.  Apparently, they made a movie, Suburban Girl starring Sarah Michell

Here Comes my girl

Here's a super laid back casual outfit for you. I forgot about these pants and decided that they're very summer appropriate being cotton and cropped. Obviously I don't feel like getting dressed up everyday and yesterday was just one of those days. Tonight, right after work I'm heading over to Madison Square Garden, which is just a few blocks from where I work to see Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers in concert. Of course I'm meeting up with Nickie first because who else is more rock & roll than I am and that would have been on the ball and bought tickets in advance? I'm pretty grateful that I've grown up listening to them as well as some other cool rock & roll bands all thanks to my dad. You can bet that Nickie and I will be singing along to most of their songs. It's my first time in years attending a huge concert venue as I usually stick to small bar type shows, and this one being in New York with such a huge band, I'm excited at just being th

First of all I want to thank everyone that commented on my Popeye tattooed arm from yesterday's post. It's actually pretty normal for skin to swell up but I put ice on it after taking that picture and the swelling was gone the next day. Now all I have to do is keep moisturizing as it heals. I won't be going for another session for another 3 weeks (have other plans in the works) so I guess this will be it for a little while. It's funny to be able to see the progress throughout this blog. I never thought I'd be keeping a tattoo log but I guess it works. So this outfit is nothing new, unfortunately I woke up in a bit of a fog on Monday morning and just couldn't decide on anything. I'm already looking forward to Fall and trying to decide on what items I want to stock up in my wardrobe. Of course, it probably won't be time for that for another 2 months or so, but whatever, a girl can dream. *Oh and I'm thinking it's time for a hair post real soon, so

Un weekend raté

I think I might have possibly jinxed my weekend by laying it all out for you on Friday. I ended up not doing more than half the things I set out to do but in the end I still had fun. This is what I wore on Sunday when we were planning on going to the Waterfront theatre in Williamsburg to catch a free show. Well, we needed to stop for food, and then once we were finally on our way, it started pouring down on us. So of course, that was a bust. We retreated to some dive bar then moved on to another one where we met up with some other friends. The night ended watching the season premiere of Mad Men, of which I'll probably not watch again this season due to not owning a TV. But that's ok, I rather watch them all consecutively anyway. Did anyone else catch it? Thoughts? Oh and if you saw my tweets on Friday about my arm looking like Popeye. See for yourself:                                  This was taken the same night after 4 hours of sitting in a chair. Each flower took approx. 1

Okay, let's just all pretend that my belt is sitting at just the right place and hides the elastic waist. There, perfect. If this dress looks familiar it's because it is one of Dear Beatrice's creations. Remember when I borrowed Maria's custom Dear Beatrice dress and I didn't want to give it up? Well, right there and then I decided that I needed a dress of my own. The lovely Beatrice gave me three different fabric choices to choose from and I went with this mint green/white polka dot pattern. It's perfect for my pastel summer theme. She has a few more similar dresses in her shop if your interested. They're beautifully made and definitely a perfect summer staple. And at last, it's Friday! Anyone got big plans? I'm actually excited to spend mine with some friends since I was away last weekend. Today, I'm getting inked (haha), then meeting up with Nickie to catch a play in Park Slope, then probably make our way to the Bell house as per usual. Sa
