It's Raining?

I have alot to say about this outfit today so please, just bear with me...

I'm quite surprised at how these pictures turned out considering it was raining a little when I was snapping away. I came out geared with my camera wrapped in a plastic bag with only the lens visible. I thought they'd be all grey or gloomy. Oh how we bloggers sacrifice...






First of all, I am not going to take credit for this outfit. While browsing through an old (ish) People magazine yesterday I saw a picture of the most adorable Carey Mulligan and beau Shia and she was dressed just like this. She even had a headband on. I thought to myself, wow, she looks so comfty! I was jealous and wanted to recreate the look asap. So that's where this outfit was created.



                  
                                                     

Now I thought to myself, I can't go into work (more like, Manhattan) looking like this, too casual and shleppy. That' where the accessories come in. I usually just stick to my stud earrings, mimi & marge ring, and a couple of silver chains with pendants, but today, I just went for it. I looked at what I had and it turned out perfect. I'm wearing a clock pendant chain necklace from Urban Outfitters and then layered it with this necklace I received from Dolly & boy, which is made out of recycled brass. I think the two together really complimented each other and I was quite proud of the outcome. I should really pay more attention to jewelry when shopping.

My hair was the only annoying thing to deal with. To recreate the A. Wang side braid I need the help of my clip in extensions. Well, this look lasts for about 10 minutes, yup, so after these pictures are taken, it's all down hill. I must've changed my hairstyle about 5 times today. My hair just doesn't to the side part all that well, especially with these new shorter layers I got over the weekend. Oh well. There you have it a whole post about what I'm wearing!

{Blue & Peach} Yes, I'm still taking outfit pictures in my backyard. We were planning on moving this weekend but midway throught he week we found out that the tenant that is curerntly in the spot we're moving into wasn't planning on getting out until Monday. Who does that? Personally, I much rather move over the weekend than leaving it until a Monday but I guess not everyone is on a Monday to Friday schedule. So, instead I spent Saturday packing away, and Sunday went into the city with my man and strolled through Central Park, and stopped into the Met for a quick look. We had a delicious lunch at Candle cafe , another amazing vegan place in the city. This outfit is from last week but I didn't have time to post it until now. I like this color combination and the tights add a little texture since both top and skirt are solid. I usually like to mix it up with a least one print but this is keeping it a little more simple.
