Hair Post: Hair product junkie

Image
I've decided to let you all in on what I use in my hair and add some tidbits that I've discovered along the way. I'm not a hairstylist, or a hair product sales person so this is basically just my own opinions and point of view. My hair. It's a medium thickness and gets a little wavy. It's been color treated ever since 7th grade so I'm not sure what my natural hair color is but right now it's a auburny-brown color. Since it's on the longer side and a little thick I got really lazy about washing it as the drying time took way too much time. Because of this I've now worked it down to a 2 day washing schedule (Wednesday & Sundays). So what I do on my off days is use a shower cap (thicker than the ones given at hotels) that cuts out the moisture and then occasionally i'll wash my bangs over the sink. I'll use some dry shampoo by the 3rd day and work a little more product into it. I use a imitation boar bristle brush that distributes the oils ...

Suzi dit Feng Shui

It's finally Friday and I'm so excited for this weekend! Nickie and I decided on a impromptu out of the city getaway to the Poconos. Oh man, it feels like it's been ages since I left the city. I can't wait for thrift stores, flea markets and lots of goodwill thrifting. I think I better bring an extra suitcase just in case. And of course, I'll be taking loads of pictures! This morning when I was taking my outfit pics I was really trying to show off how this new OPI color: Suzi says Feng Shui matched perfectly with the blue in my dress. It wasn't even intentional since I was planning on wearing something completely different last night when I was painting my nails. I couldn't figure out how to pose for this and felt a little awkward!haha. Have a good weekend everyone. I'll be back on Tuesday.  Outfit: Dress}kensie Shoes}Winner's Nailpolish} OPI, Suzi says Feng Shui

Fashion Delivers: Pay it Fashion Forward

Through blogging I've been lucky enough to come across some pretty great organizations, Fashion Delivers is right up there on the list of doing great things for a great cause. They help fashion companies donate their excess inventory/goods to victims of natural disasters. A few notable supporters include President Barack Obama, NYC Mayor Michae l Bloomberg , LL Cool J and  Daisy Fuentes. On June 15th, they'll be holding their Third Annual Pay it Fashion Forward event that honors 5 industry influencers who use their fashion sense for greater good. This year, the 5th  honoree will be a People's Choice award that you, yourself can nominate. The nominee should be a person in the online space who you feel has made a significant positive influence to their community and their environment. What you need to do: Go to the Fashion Delivers Facebook   page , and click "like". Then post your submission on the wall by June 4th. This year's eve...

In the early 80's, prom dresses worn by young ladies were very appealing and fashionable. Young ladies often changed their dress in harmony with the type of music aired at the prom. The prom dresses would vary in colors, shapes, and designs in accordance to the inclination and body figure of the wearer. Silk, velvet, and satin belonged to the most usual textiles for prom dresses. Vintage prom wear from the eighties looked fabulous and cater to the classic hourglass figure. The 80's style varied from Ivory Lace Creations, Punk Prom Party Frocks, Ruffled Prom Dresses, and Strapless Taffetas. These were joined by the Polka Dot Bowed Prom Dresses, the Vintage Lace Wiggle Backless Promenade Dresses, and Floral Knee Length Gowns. prom dresses prom dresses prom dresses prom dresses prom dresses

Remember that little group I'm a member of called the Delightful Dozen? Yeah, I know I haven't posted anything about it in a very long time but it's still going and there's articles of clothing out there being swapped and mailed out all over the country. You a can keep up with it through our Facebook page .  A lit tle while ago, Jen (from Jenloveskev ) and I did a little swap of our own. I packed up a few things fer her and she did the same. Well, I'm sorry to tell you Jen but I've adopted (more like kidnapped) this skirt! I've had it for so long and have been dying to wear it but really wanted to get that perfect outfit down for the coming out of it on the blog. Trust me, this skirt goes with every top I own. I'm not kidding. I have a tank/t-shirt/blouse in every single color in the print of this skirt and I want to wear it with every one of them. Funny enou...

Getting over the hump

Finally the Summer weather is upon us! No more tights, no more cardigans needed (for now). I took the opportunity to wear one of my rompers and decided to forego tights. Eeep! So short! I'm really not used to showing so much legs! yikes. As we're approaching the weekend I'm getting more and more excited. You see Nickie and I have decided to get out of the city for memorial day weekend and go to the quiet mountainess Poconos. She's going up on Friday and i'll be joining her on Saturday. I still haven't had much time to see what the heck there is to do there but i'm just looking forward to not being in nyc, maybe checking out as few farmer's markets and some memorial day parades. I already have some cute weekend casual outfits planned out, now I only have to check out the weather to see if it's appropriate. { Thanks for all of the comments on my new tattoo! I super appreciate it. And yes, it is going to be colored at some point and will be going up to ...
