Hi all, just a super quick post to show you these cute little shorts I updated with a super easy DIY. The post can be found on the Delightful Dozen blog. I'm off to the beach with some friends, so that's all for now!

Ok, still no vacation pictures but you get to see my brand new...tan! I think this is the first time in a very long time that I actually have a tan... that did not come from a bottle . I did play it safe by slathering an SPF 50 from morning until late afternoon but the sun was so strong that I still managed to get some color on these pasty legs of mine. So in lieu of this fabulous healthy glow {ok, i'm just bragging now} I decided to forgo the tights for today. I could've gone with so many colors in order to play up this black & white dress but instead used my trusty red cardigan for a mod look. {Butterflies & Lace} Phewww, what a weekend! So much was planned for this pass weekend and I'm happy to report that we did all of it! I'll have a few posts up later this week about it as I need to gather a few pictures from my guest since she's such a skilled photographer and was kind enough to take my outfit pics all weekend. Just threw this on this morning, not really knowing what the weather was going to be like. It's a little overcast and raniy here but what else is new? I'm just doing a countdown until Friday when I get to leave on a teeny tiny vaycay to the Bahamas. Oh did I forget to mention that? oopsies, must've slipped my mind to share with you. Ok, enough, yes me and my man are getting away this weekend to a very simple hotel near the beach in Nassau, Bahamas, and we are both very excited. Now I just need to get through this week! La Porte rouge

{The red door} I need to confess that I've been holding this dress hostage for a few weeks now. It's from the Delightful Dozen and I just couldn't figure out how to wear it...until now. The only way to tone down the brightness was to pair it with navy. I accessorized with some brown accessories and thre in a purse just because I usually never use my purses in my posts. As it turn out it's actually one of my fave outfits! I can finally pass this dress on to the next lady in line. Hope everyone had a great weekend and didn't get too much rain on Saturday. I'm not sure of other parts but lightning and heavy rain got everyone in Brooklyn staying indoors. Thank goodness for the sun coming out on Sunday so that we could get on with our weekend {and take outfit pics}. Bon Matin

I can't believe that it's already Sunday night and I'm just now getting to write this post. This weekend went by a little too fast and I only got to about half of the things I wanted to do. I'm glad, however, that I had time to take these pictures this morning before anything else. We discovered this red wall by just crossing the street and walking a few doors down from where we live. This dress is making the Delightful Dozen rounds and comes from the Online shop, Ruche {which just so happens to be my newest sponsor}. I love the collar detailing which gives the dress an ultra feminine feel. The polka dots are just plain cute too. I wanted to pair it with some fun tights, and these blue ones seem to go well with this denim vest. I really feel like you can pair any color with a block and white combo and never go wrong. Am I right? Anywho, you can keep track of what's going on with the Delightful Dozen on our blog . We're doing regular {almost daily} posts as well ...

Fleurs de Printemps

{Spring Flowers} Just a quick outfit post for you tonight. I'm on my way to the gym and still need to pick up my laundry that we dropped off a few days ago! Where does the time go? I just got back from the FIT Museum to check out the installment of Vivienne Westwood, 1980-89. It's pretty amazing that these things are just available to you in NY and for free. She definitely blew my mind with her innovative creations starting from a punk rock boutique. It's only up for two more days so I encourage you if you're in New York, to stop by. This dress is from a Delightful Dozen swap. I saw it on Jen {original owner} and I knew that it was going to be a tad long on me but was up for trying it anyways. As long as I wear a little heel I feel like it could pass. Soemtimes its good to be a little more modest. Then again, when am I ever scandalous? I can't even wear a dress without wearing bicycle shorts underneath. You've probably guessed that I haven't gone to get m...

Gris et Rouge

{Grey and Red} I don't have too much to say today so this one will be a very short post. This dress is making its rounds with the Deligthful Dozen ladies. Have you been following the blog? There's asome pretty amazing things going on over there. I'm so excited that it's gotten such a great response! For this dress, I wanted to try and tone it down a little so I paired it with different greys. I definitely love the pop of color though.  Oh and the first thing I did this morning was trim my bangs! So you'll see that in my next post. I just can't do the side sweep. Well, gotta go, we've popped popcorn and have a bunch of Planet Earth DVD's to get through. Have a great night! {The green skirt} Ok, I feel like i'm in the home stretch right now. Only a few more days to go before I can finally live normally and not amongst all of these boxes. I have to say that moving is not fun and I've only really begun. When it's not one thing that stressing you out ( find a place to live)  it's another (figuring how to pack up your life in boxes). But there's definitely the light at the end of the tunnel and that means that me and my boyfriend will no longer be spending over half an hour getting to each others houses on a daily basis. And well, there's a lot more great things attached to it, like a better neighborhood and lots more places to eat but that i'll tell you more of when I'm finally there. This outfit is made up of a mish mash of things. This sweater is vintage and you've probably seen it on the blog before. The skirt is from a Delightful Dozen swap, so you know what that means? You can see how the other members have worn it ov...

Café au lait

Image
{Coffee with milk} This dress, making the D12 rounds belongs to Annie from Time Enough for Drums . I'm so in love with it. It's easy fitting and cute peter pan collar was so easy to style that I wish I owned more dresses like this. It's also loose fitting to hide that "winter weight" I've been wearing my hair up a lot more since the multiple layers and scarves have been turning the hair at the nape of my neck into one big dreadlock. I'm sure i'm not the only one that gets this but it's really annoying when I only realize this halfway thru the day and the back of my head looks like one big clumpy mess. Has anyone even figured out how to avoid this? Please help me. Outfit: dress}Zara, via Delightful Dozen swap cardigan}kensie booties}c/o Dusty Rose Vintage

Trop Cool

Image
{Too Cool} So this week was the week that everyone decided to mail their stuff out to me. I got so many Delightful Dozen dresses in that I'm kind scared at how I'm supposed to be getting all cute in them in this stupid weather. Really though, I've been looking like heck at work too because I've been working a little overtime. So why get dressed up is what I say. Maybe this is just what I need to get me out of this rut. It also helps me with my "No New Buying Ban" so I guess I shouldn't really complain.  This dress, who's original owner is Starr , is amazing. Although it's a tad too big for me, I didn;t want to pass up such a beautiful print. Feathers are sooo in now, didn't ya know? Anyways, I wanted to turn this dress into something playful (tights!) and keep the vintage vibe (sunglasses).  Is it weird that I have sunglasses on in an outfit pic? Does anyone else do this? I kind of felt weird but you see, it was actually sunny when I took these...

Calendrier 2011

Image
I've been meaning to post these pictures since Christmas but with the last couple of weeks being extremely busy I barely got around to going through them and getting them up. This year, the Delightful Dozen decide to put together a 2011 calendar featuring each member every month. All of the proceeds will go to the National Eating Disorder Association ( NEDA ). I chose December for my month and really wanted a Christmas Holiday theme. Too bad that the day I took pictures it was sunny and still green at the park. I just had to make do with my floral crown headpiece and green & red wrap scarf. We felt that as bloggers, we are able to provide an honest and realistic approach to beauty, fashion and style. We are not models, nor are we trying to be. We're all just real girls that like dressing up. I think the message that style blogs convey is that anyone no matter their size, weight, height is able to have fun with clothing and really define their personal style. The calendars a...

Un look retro

Image
{A retro look} Oh man, what a crazy long weekend it's been! Thanksgiving turned out great, then visited the Brooklyn Museum and on Satuday did a walking ghost tour with some friends in the upper West Side. Have you ever done a ghost tour? They're a really great way to learn a little bit of history. Well, that's why I do them it's more about the creepy NY history than finding out if there are any ghosts haunting whichever building. I wasn't really going anywhere today but I wanted to finally style up this retro tunic from Annie in order to pass it along to all the other D12 ladies. I thought I'd pair it with my pumpkin tights from welovecolors to make it just mod enough. The length on it is slightly awkward though so I had to add some jean shorts underneath in order to not be so scandalous. Well, I have a an exciting giveaway coming up on the blog tomorrow , so make sure to check back for that. ( Sorry, the giveaway has been postponed)  I'm going to be head...
