Christian Audigier's Ed Hardy Line By Darryl G Green By the time he was 19 years of age Christian Audigier was celebrated as the "king of jeans." He was designing jeans in a whole new way. He definitely paid his dues working for a number of large clothing labels, and obviously learning very much that he was able to later apply to his own label. His popularity grew and the elaborate parties that he threw did not escape wide coverage in the media. In early 2005, Christian announced to the world on television, that he was leaving Von Dutch to start his own clothing line, to be called Ed Hardy. The Ed Hardy clothing line seems to be inspired by the current popular tattoo culture, by Hollywood and stars, and by the biker lifestyle. Ed Hardy was known as the world's foremost tattoo artist.
