Reworked vintage

If you didn't catch it on the Bust blog yesterday, here is my outfit from the craftacular. I "bought" this dress at Beacon's Closet {with store credit} last weekend and figured that this was the perfect place to wear it. It's a re-worked african print robe from Zachary Smile's White Label. I love how this little crochet apron was the perfect little topper and suitable for a crafty crowd. I did have to walk a few blocks to get us some lunch over at S'nice and got a few stares on the way but hey, this is New York! People are cookie so as long as I kept my head up and walked like I was a lady on a mission, no one really commented. Oh just don't mind the bandaged finger in that last picture. I had a little accident on Friday night that made me think I might've had to test out the hospitals here in Brooklyn, which frankly, scares the heck out of me, but turns out a few closure strips, some bactene and bandaids is all that was needed. I have a new give...

The Crafty things

Just a few pictures from the Bust Craftacular on Saturday. I found the venue to be a lot smaller and not as many vendors, so i'm hoping that this was just a fluke and that the next one will be bigger, and better. i guess the Spring fairs just aren't as big in general, but we still managed to have fun, and eat all the vegan treats possible. The Dusty Rose Vintage booth. Vendors getting set-up early at 8am! Our friendly neighbors, T he Brooklyn Haus Cute little critters by La Muse Kalliope Some awesome prints by Rar Rar Press Some delicious goodness by Vegan Treats Pretty eco lingerie by Clare Bare. Don't worry, I was able to get a few pictures of my outfit for the day. I'll be posting them very soon. Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm already looking forward to next weekend, memorial day!

49th St & Broadway

I had the pleasure of taking my outfit pictures at one of my favorite subway stops in Manhattan. Yes, it's busy and there's a million tourists at all times, but I love the red brick walls that make up 49th St station. As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I attended the United Way's Young Leaders Council Red carpet soiree. The event was held at The Renaissance Hotel in Times Square. My co-worker, Lizzie and I had a blast, sipping wine and grooving to the DJ set by Brina Payne. The night was hosted by Katherine Creig from Fox 5 news and recognized young philantropist Beverly Bond, founder of Black Girls Rock. Although we didn't make it to the after party, we made our way back to Brooklyn and found ourselves at The Bell House, a local bar and I got home way past my bedtime. I wore my corset and tulle dress by kensie, paired with glittery gold tights and topped with a cardigan and a fancy sweater guard. The chain/clip sweater guard I bought a...
