Tenue Recrée

{Recreated Outfit} Confession: I wore this outfit out at a show a few weeks ago but since I never took pictures, I wanted to recreate it for the blog. This is a more toned down look more suitable for daytime. For the night time look I had paired it with some ripped up black tights and black boots. It's been a while since I wore a headband, I used to wear them all of the time last year, or was it the year before? They just seem to be a little cumbersome sometimes but maybe I just need to find the right scarves that won't slip so much. I also just wanted to say that I have started accepting sponsors for this blog. If you're a small company looking for a way to gain a little more exposure and think that this blog is a good match for you please feel free to email me. I have super afforadable rates and am always willing to work something out that would work for the both of us. I'd love to get a few etsy sellers up here, so please, don't be shy! Well, not much else to sa...

{Monday Mornings} Just a quick outfit post for you guys today {I feel like there's more and more of these happening these days} as I desperately need to catch up on some sleep. I've gone back to scheduling my posts, meaning I write them the night before I post them, just so I can have something up when all of you are waking up and drinking your morning coffee or tea. I'm just being considerate yes? And I appreciate every one of you that takes the time out of your day to read this blog. I certainly know how busy life gets but still, to have you guys come over here and see what I've got to say/wear, really means a lot. Monday mornings are never a time when I feel like dressing up for work. In order to avoid reaching for my jeans, I try to go for something casual without compromising style. Today was a t-shirt and skirt combo. I even debated of forgoing the tights but then took a look at my pasty white legs and decided that wasn't the best idea. I did get my hair cut ...

When I was putting together this outfit I was scared that it would come out a little too school uniform-ish so right before leaving the house I threw on this scarf to add contrast and break up the white shirt, navy skirt look. I kind of like how both prints clash against each other. But then again, I'm not sure a red, white and blue outfit is appropriate in April? Well, today is my mom's birthday and I already called her to wish her a happy one but I just need to mention it here as well. She spent the day babysitting my nephew and then helping my sister out with some wedding stuff, that technically, as the Maid of Honor, I should be handling. Due to living so far away from my sister, my mom has really been the one to step up and get all of these things taken care of. So a HUGE thank you for helping that Mom!  And besides, I don't know the first thing about planning a wedding so I'm sure I'd be useless in that area. Well, we just got back from our fave noodle place t...

I had a few errands to run on Sunday before meeting up with a couple of friends at the NYC Vegetarian festival {which we never made it to}. Since I'm still feeling a little sick, achey, and tired, I wanted to be as comfortable as ever while still upholding some kind of standards {why, I'm not sure as we saw some girls wearing questionable tights as pants, yikes!}. Still layering up on tights, I decided to go with the makeshift thigh high socks, cut from old tights to keep my bottom half warm. I can't believe I'm still wearing a scarf in April! I guess I could've done without it in the afternoon, when it warmed up but these days you can enver tell. Even with the sun shining, it could still be 40 degrees. So after my errands, which included, the gym, and getting a nightstand for my side of the bed, I headed to Manhattan, to the NYC Vegetarian Festival. Little did I know that the line up was wrapped around the block and they weren't letting anyone else in. So we d...

Le Marché

Image
Yesterday we had the chance to check out the farmer's market held at McCarren Park. This market goes on all year round and offers anything that is in season and locally produced. It's a great place to stock up of greens and fresh fruits, right now, apples of all kinds are being offered. Even though I started to feel a little sick on Friday ngiht, I pulled myself together on Saturday to come up with a decent outfit post. This skirt is from a swap I did with Emily of Nudgenick . I usually don't wear plaid so I was happy to see that she had included it in the items she sent me. The nice thing about swapping is that you get to try things that you usually wouldn't think of buying for yourself. It's actually a really great, easy skirt that I think I'm going to miss. The hair was pull up into Heidi braids since there was no time to wash it and make it to the market in time. Here are a few more random shots from the market: This little one was too cute! her little denim...

{The green skirt} Ok, I feel like i'm in the home stretch right now. Only a few more days to go before I can finally live normally and not amongst all of these boxes. I have to say that moving is not fun and I've only really begun. When it's not one thing that stressing you out ( find a place to live)  it's another (figuring how to pack up your life in boxes). But there's definitely the light at the end of the tunnel and that means that me and my boyfriend will no longer be spending over half an hour getting to each others houses on a daily basis. And well, there's a lot more great things attached to it, like a better neighborhood and lots more places to eat but that i'll tell you more of when I'm finally there. This outfit is made up of a mish mash of things. This sweater is vintage and you've probably seen it on the blog before. The skirt is from a Delightful Dozen swap, so you know what that means? You can see how the other members have worn it ov...

Bleu et Pêche

{Blue & Peach} Yes, I'm still taking outfit pictures in my backyard. We were planning on moving this weekend but midway throught he week we found out that the tenant that is curerntly in the spot we're moving into wasn't planning on getting out until Monday. Who does that? Personally, I much rather move over the weekend than leaving it until a Monday but I guess not everyone is on a Monday to Friday schedule. So, instead I spent Saturday packing away, and Sunday went into the city with my man and strolled through Central Park, and stopped into the Met for a quick look. We had a delicious lunch at Candle cafe , another amazing vegan place in the city. This outfit is from last week but I didn't have time to post it until now. I like this color combination and the tights add a little texture since both top and skirt are solid. I usually like to mix it up with a least one print but this is keeping it a little more simple. Looking at these pictures, I'm happy to repo...

{I'm Back} Yoah, sorry I disappeared on you guys this week. Life has certainly been kicking my butt and I've had no time to post! Don't worry though, I have been taking my outfit pictures in the mornings so I have a few posts that will be scheduled just so I can catch up. Let's take this outfit for instance, I think it might be from last Tuesday. I really just wanted something comfortable so I usually go with these cotton skirts that can pretty much go with anything. I'd say its probably one of my key pieces in my closet. Anybody else over this weather yet? All I want to do is stay inside and sip on some hot mulled cider and watch movies. It's terrible how anti-social I become in the winter. Outfit: sweater} kensie skirt}H&M boots}c/o Seychelles

{Pink & Black) This may be the first time ever that I show my teeth in one of my outfit posts. It was never intentional to not show teeth but it's kind of awkward to smile and laugh when you're all by yourself in your backyard. I bought this skirt a while ago and have been having difficulty finding something to pair it with. Any ideas? This ensemble is kind of simple but I was so tired that I couldn't think of anything else. I feel like I have a whole modern victorian look going on. It's finally the weekend and i'm looking forward to a few things. Saturday I'm meeting up with Veronika of Tick Tock Vintage , who also happens to be the newest Delightful Dozen member! I'm so excited to start swapping with her as she has an amazing vintage style! Then on Sunday I'll be heading out early to the Bust Craftacular. it's where I plan on doing most of my christmas shopping so I've been looking forwad to it for a while now! Hope you all have a lovely w...

A very short post as I'm currently writting this in the airport lounge. It's a little awkward as there's about 10 computers that are all free but the one other person in here decides that he needs to use the one directly next to me. Really??! Who does that? It's like using a restroom and going into the stall right next to the only one being used when all the rest are vacant.  I briefly mentioned a feature that I had been asked to be a part of over at Snapshot Fashion. Diane had this really neat idea for a feature showcasing how 5 different girls can wear a certain item. Last week we posted what item we were planning on transitioning into Fall, and this week we are showing how we wear a scarf. For me, this one was pretty easy. I have this thing where I don't like to wear all solids. When I find myself doing this head to toe, I tend to reach for a scarf to throw in some print.I used to wear head scarves all the time (if you check my archives) but recently I just can...

Bonjour Automne!

Image
So the brown/black trend continues. I just can't help myself. I wanted something casual so I reached for my sweatshirt and comfy skirt, and these boots just semmed fitting. It's nothing new but sometimes you just need those days of coziness. I told myself that I wouldn't dye my hair anymore (EVER) but I really hated the faded auburn color it was. I had about 1/2 a tube of brown hair dye leftover in my hairsupply cupboard so I decided to just use it up and that would it be it. I'm hoping that this is close to my natural hair color (whatever that is!) so that I won't need to dye it anymore. Oh and today is the first day of Fall! I'd be happier if it wasn't 85 degrees outside but hey it can't last can it? Outfit: sweatshirt}UO tee}gift from ex-bf skirt}H&M boots}Dexter (thrifted via Beacon's Closet)

Let's just face it, I love awkward length dresses and skirts. Here's another one that I just couldn't resist on my recent trip to Value Village. So I like the fact that the general conscensus is that we all need to buckle down and get life in order now that Fall has arrived. Someone asked me how I find motivation to get to gym and the answer is simple, when most of my clothing just doesn't fit right anymore and leaves me uncomfortable halfway through my day, I know it's time. You know the feeling?   I also liked a few of your ideas:  Making more meals at home  Only going out to eat once/week  Keeping a regular eating schedule Finding time for the gym ( i try to go 4 times/week ) Organizing your home work space keeping a daily/weekly list of tasks ( it feels sooo good to cross them off!) If you have any more ideas, please teach me the ways! I'm open to any suggestions and will most definitely post them on here for anyone else feeling the Fall changes. Outfit...
