Hi! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Just wanted to let you all in on a little blogger picnic that Veronika & I have been talking about. It's going to be here in Brooklyn, on Saturday June 18th! You can also check out our event Facebook event and RSVP if you can make it!

Hors de l'Ordinaire

{Out of the ordinary} These pictures are from my blogger brunch meet-up from a couple of weekends ago. Veronika  ( i heart  this lady) was so nice to offer to take all of our outfit pictures. I have to say, being photographed on the street by a real person is kind of intimidating when you are used to your enclosed backyard/ tripod/self-timer trio., I guess I'm going to have to get use to it though considering that this could be the last week I have in that backyard. Yes, as I'm writting this, I'm not even sure if I'll be moving this weekend or the next yet. Talk about stressful right? Since it was Sunday I wanted to wear something casual yet not completely dressed down. I found this skirt at Beacon's not too long ago and was able to snatch it up with my store credit. Not breaking the rules! I think it'll be a versatile piece come Spring time when I can wear it with some cute brown sandals and a tank. Well, I've got some more packing to do so this is where it...

La Deuxième partie

Image
Here's my part 2 from last weekends blogger meet up extravanganza! I arranged a little brunch meet up at The Organic Grill on First ave. with Meg , Veronika and Rachel . Little did I know the trains we going to be ridiculous and I ended up being half an hour late! Me! I'm usually NEVER late to be quite honest with you. I try very hard o be on time and even early to everything. Anyways, the girls had time to get a table and some coffee in while they waited for me. Once we finished brunch, which was delicious by the way. I definitely recommend The Organic Grill for vegetarian/vegans looking for a place in the city. We moved on to Brooklyn, where I took the ladies shopping at Beacon's Closet. Where else would I take them??? I was very good at keeping with my no buying rule ( which some of you have asked if I'm not buying ANYTHING or if it's just not NEW, to answer your question, i'm not buying ANYTHING, just swapping or selling). Right before going in, we stopped ...

Des amies jamais connues

{Friends you've never known} Like I had mentioned on Friday, this past weekend was full of blogger meet ups. I couldn't have been happier to see Veronika again, and this time she brought friends, Stephanie and Rachel along. As if that wasn't enough, the lovely Hannah joined us as well with friend in tow. I'm always really excited to meet up with other bloggers especially when we've worked up a little online friendship beforehand. It just makes things that much easier when you do see each other face to face and it's like you're all just friends reuniting again. We started the night off with a little grub at Spitzers in the Lower East side. During the day this place is awesome, with it's 40 different kinds of beer on tap, one can only dream of tasting them all. At night...um..not so much. I'd say eat and get out of there. And that's just what we did. Veronika , Rachel and Hannah We made our way down Ludlow St and ended up at The Dark Room. The ...

{Crazy for Velvet} Just a very short post as I am dead tired tonight {I am scheduling this for the morning}. I can't believe that tomorrow is already Friday and the weekend is just around the corner! I already have a few plans to meet up with some very cool blogger ladies that are in town for NYFW so I'm pretty excited about that. What I'm not so excited about it the frigid cold temperatures! Yikes, it makes it hard to pull off anything cute outfit for all these planned soiree's. If you are in NYC this weekend, please don't hesitate to shoot me an email or a tweet . Calendrier 2011

Image
I've been meaning to post these pictures since Christmas but with the last couple of weeks being extremely busy I barely got around to going through them and getting them up. This year, the Delightful Dozen decide to put together a 2011 calendar featuring each member every month. All of the proceeds will go to the National Eating Disorder Association ( NEDA ). I chose December for my month and really wanted a Christmas Holiday theme. Too bad that the day I took pictures it was sunny and still green at the park. I just had to make do with my floral crown headpiece and green & red wrap scarf. We felt that as bloggers, we are able to provide an honest and realistic approach to beauty, fashion and style. We are not models, nor are we trying to be. We're all just real girls that like dressing up. I think the message that style blogs convey is that anyone no matter their size, weight, height is able to have fun with clothing and really define their personal style. The calendars a...

De Nouveau

New blog layout, yeah! I know we're creatures of habit and we dislike change but I REALLY needed to spruce up this blog. Well, maybe spruce up is not the right term, more like an overhaul. I little while ago I enlisted the help of the super talented Kaelah of Little Chief Honeybee to design a new blog layout. I mean, the girl's motto is to always dress as you are going to a tea party, who better than her to design a blog for a girl that has a tea party themed tattooed on her arm? A match made in blog heaven if you ask me. After numerous back and forth emails( more than 75, no joke) of me trying to explain what I wanted and Kaelah totally getting it, we finally accomplished a finished product! I added a few things here and there so feel free to poke around. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and am really excited to start off fresh. Thanks again Kaelah for putting up with all my little knitpicky requests!!

The After Party- Chictopia10

Image
So you may have noticed that I made myself scarce during these conferences but only because they were all held during the day and unfortunately, I'm a working girl. So I made the effort to try and attend as many nightly events as possible in order to meet all of the ladies I was so looking forward to seeing. The Juicy Bird store Annie ( Little Ocean Annie ) Annie ( Time Enough for Drums ) Starr ( A Thought is the Blossom ) and Nickie ( Wild as a Mink ) Me, sporting my vintage glasses. Starr found herself a new friend Jenn ( Jennifhsieh ) and Jasmine ( Transient Withdrawal ) Tieka ( Selective Potential ) and Starr ( A Thought is the Blossom ) yes Tieka, you may take this picture if you need to. And here are a few pictures from chictopia 's after party held at the Juicy Couture store. Unfortunately I missed the conference but I heard really good things about it. The after party was a nice little meet and greet of ladies that I hadn't yet seen that weekend. We sipped on...

La Soirée à venir

Image
First of all, thanks for all the birthday wishes! And bonus points for those of you who said I don't look my age! (much love!) This is what I'm wearing for tonight's Fashion Night Out. I tried on a few options last night just so that I'd be sure I'd be happy with what I decided on. It's kind of stressful dressing for these events and I'm sure for those out-of -towners it must be nearly impossible! I can never decide what way to go, vintage? trendy? casual? dressy? blah blah blah.... so yeah. Easy, simple dress, opaque tights, my geisha-like shoes, a smart looking blazer, and clyde's rebirth necklace for uber coolness. I'm pretty excited for all the events that we've decided to hit up, Jessica Stam at Rachel Roy, Karen Elson at Balenciaga,  Male models at Gant ( why not?!) ending in Brooklyn for Market Publique's Pop up shop. Should be fun, and I can't wait to finally meet up with some bloggers! Outfit: dress}UO (thrifted via Beacon's...

Grace, picking out a few items. Nikka , sporting her newly acquired Sherlock cape. Me! Maresa, and Nickie, checking out fit issues. Nickie (both top and bottom)
