Aaaannnd i'm back from a relaxing, eventful, sunny Memorial day long weekend. Well, yes, I do realize that it's now Wednesday so I should've been back yesterday but my days have just been so jammed packed that I did not have a minute to post.  We spent most of Monday lazing around at the beach, enjoying the hot sunny weather that has finally arrived and seems to be staying {just jinxed it...} . After that, I quickly got home, washed away all of the sand and remnants from the beach and made myself look somewhat presentable for the Time Square crowd, since that's where I was meeting my ladies for a screening of Bridesmaids {which was hilarious, mostly due to Melissa McCarthy} . So all in all, t'was a very good weekend here in Brooklyn. I love love love the lighting in these pictures as they were taken at my favorite time of day right before the sunset. I met up with a friend at the in between point of both our places that just so happens to be this park. If you follow...

Trop de photos?

{Too Many pictures?} You'll have to excuse me for the picture overload in this post but I love how these pictures came out! These were taken on Saturday night just before heading out to catch an Off-Broadway show called, Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating and Marriage. No this is not a joke, about 10 of us girls {and 2 boys}   met up in Time Square to see this as we had won free tickets. And let me tell you, when you're in New York, you don't turn down anything free show! The show had some funny moments, just as much a awkward ones, but with a group of gals it could never be a boring night.  After the show we all sort of split up, Veronika and I heading back into Brooklyn to meet up with Morgan , Merl , and Jentine for a girl's night out for Morgan's belated birthday. I was so happy to have been able to meet up with all of these ladies! It was definitely one of those amazing friends, amazing times kind of weekend.  Outfit: tank} kensie skirt} Tulle tights} ...

Toute Seule

{All Alone} I will start off by saying that I have no idea what I'm doing with my hair. I'm trying to let the shorter layers from the top grow out and eventually get a "real" {not with my own scissors} hair cut. You see, my sister's wedding is at the begining of June and I'd like to have a somewhat tame hairstyle. I'll already be standing out with the tattoos adorning my body so I figure this is the least I can do. I'm also trying to get back to my natural hair color so I haven't dyed my hair since last September {half a year, yeah!}. So this is where I stand, with an outgrown fringe and layers hairstyle and a somewhat two tone color. I need help. I think it's time to go for that professional cut that I've been avoiding like the plague. Wish me luck. Since the weather is a little warmer these days, I'm trying to lighten up the colors of my outfits. I bought this blouse a very long time ago, back in December when I was in Canada. I had...

La Tenue Perdue

{The Lost Outfit} If you paid close attention to these pics you'd have realized that they're not recent. Nope, I took these back in November and never posted them! Well, since the weather has been all rain, slush and snow these past few weeks, this comes as a welcome surprise as I haven't exactly been pulling out all stops with my outfits. Since this sweater already creates so much volume, my thought process was to pull back the hair in order to balance everything out. I haven't worn my hair like this is a very long time. In fact, I have previously posted a tutorial on milkmaid braids that you can find here . It really is super easy. And just to remind you that there's still some stuff up in my blog shop ! I'm hopefully going to update it again this weekend so i'd say keep checking. Outfit: sweater} Kensie shorts}thrifted boots}Aldo

De Retour

{I'm Back} Yoah, sorry I disappeared on you guys this week. Life has certainly been kicking my butt and I've had no time to post! Don't worry though, I have been taking my outfit pictures in the mornings so I have a few posts that will be scheduled just so I can catch up. Let's take this outfit for instance, I think it might be from last Tuesday. I really just wanted something comfortable so I usually go with these cotton skirts that can pretty much go with anything. I'd say its probably one of my key pieces in my closet. Anybody else over this weather yet? All I want to do is stay inside and sip on some hot mulled cider and watch movies. It's terrible how anti-social I become in the winter. Outfit: sweater} kensie skirt}H&M boots}c/o Seychelles

La Collectionneuse

{The lady that collects} This outfit didn't turn out like anything I had in mind. In my head, this dress (worn as a skirt) was a tad longer, this cardigan was a little shorter and I was...oh about 5 inches taller. Talk about an epic fail. I decided to post the pictures anyways because: 1. I had nothing else to post and didn't want to mess up my blogging schedule and 2. I'm not perfect and my outfits aren't always spot on. gasp! shock! yup, just a normal girl here getting dressed every morning. you win some, you lose some and you move on. Thanks for all your amazing feedback on my new resolution. I thought I'd elaborate a little more on what prompted me to do this. First of all, it's not really about saving money, although naturally, not buying new clothing will automatically help me in that department. The main reason was because I feel like I lost that love for clothing. I was buying things just to buy them and not really thinking: Do I REALLY love this? Inste...

Le début des fêtes

{The beginning of the Holidays} For those of you that are new to this blog, I work for Kensie as a Merchandiser/Buyer. I've been working for them for the last 5 years as I started when I was living in Vancouver. I moved to New York two years ago in order to continue working for them and am now focused on the retail operations as well as our new e-commerce venture. (That's right, you can now find them online). Like I mentioned in my last post, every year they fly everyone in for the annual Holiday party. This year, it was held at Lupo Restaurant located in fancy Yaletown. Here are a few pictures from the night. Karen and myself. You probably recognize Karen from other Kensie events that I've posted as she works in the NY office with me. Tracy, Nikki and Dina, all looking great in Grey. I'm wearing: top & necklace from H&M; jumper from Beacon's closet. The ladies dancin' like there's nobody lookin'. Pretty ladies Aisha, Dina, & Kathryn I flew ...

Un peu de Vancouver

{A little bit of Vancouver} As you know I'm in Vancouver this week. It's that time of year when Kensie throws their annual Holiday party , which is tonight. I haven't been able to take any outfit pictures while here so I thought I'd share a few favorite pictures that I have saved on my computer of Vancouver. The tree at English Bay. Every year it gets strung with lights and on Christmas/New Years you can catch some carollers gathered around it. This picture was taken a few years ago on New Years day. The Silvia Hotel. This hotel is so beautiful and is located right by Stanley Park.  You can catch a beautiful view of the ocean from their bar/lounge area. The perfect thing to do before heading out for a bike ride around the park. The Vancouver Public Library. The architecture is simply amazing on its own. Silly me in front of the VPL. My friend Kelsea and I (she's going to die when she sees this) in front of the Terry Fox memorial right by BC Place. I hope to get bac...

Pas de dinde pour moi

{No Turkey for Me} I'm going to keep this short as most of you are all with your families enjoying a Thanksgiving full of crazyness, cousins, uncles, aunts, turkey, stuffing, the list goes on. Well, I myself have the pleasure of spending the day with my little NY family of friends. We decided that since most of us are all out of towners (countries for 2 of us) we'd all get together for a potluck style dinner. I'm actually really excited for some reason which is funny because I believe that my first US Thanksgiving was spent getting the heck out of the country and going to Paris for the weekend. Well, this isn't Paris but I think I'm so blessed to be in the company of such wonderful people. Outfit: sweater} kensie shorts}Roxy socks}Target boots} c/o Seychelles

Je modèle, parfois

Last week ( I know, a little late with posting right?) I attended a little fashion night held at Lord & Taylor by Marie-Claire and Kensie. We even did a little fashion show featuring the latest Kensie Fall looks, modeled by real girls. We had a student, accountant, writter, blogger (me!) and designer all parade down and show off our day to night outfits. I didn't get much pictures of the other girls since I was in the midst of all of it, but here are a few snaps from the night. (These shoes were craaaazzyyy!!) And since we're talking about Kensie and I seem to be late for everything these days, I thought I should mention that you can now purchase Kensie/Kensiegirl clothing Online through Kensie.com !! So yeah, go ahead, take a looksee. Here are a few of my favorite things:   Reminds me of this dress I wore last year These will go with every dress for the holidays One word: velvet Yes, kensiegirl has handbags .
