La Robe Jamais Porter

{The Dress that was Never worn} Around this time last year, the ladies behind Rodarte came out with their coveted Target line. And just like (mostly) everyone else, I wanted a piece, literally. I made my way to the pop-up shop over in the meatpacking district, stood in line, marked the style and size I wanted on the order pad and that was it. The dress was mine. One year later, I finally rip off the tags. How sad right? It's taken me a full year to decide how I wanted to wear this dress. It wasn't until I saw my fellow D12 (Delightful Dozen, NOT Slim Shady's crew) blogger friend, Beatrice , wear hers as a skirt as part of her Dressember pledge (she's wearing a dress everyday for the month of December! ) that I thought I should really try it out. I paired it with this vintage printed angora sweater and toughened it up with my black tights and Seychelles Romance booties. Done and done. No more guilty unworn items in the closet. This whole issue kind of brings me to think...

Couleurs d'automne

How was everyone's weekend? Although mine started on a rocky note on Friday night, it turned around quite quickly and by Saturday night I was tearing it up on the dance floor with my most amazing friends. Honestly, if it wasn't for the tight knit group of ladies that I hang out with on a regular basis, I'd be a sad sap. When I bought these tights, I was hoping that they'd match the skirt a little better. You know, more of a monotone/chromatic look, but that's what happens when you don't prepare your outfit ahead of time and then have to run out the door. So I went with it anyways instead, going for a quirky kind of look. I also look a little like a pumpkin but a classy one none the less. baby, it's cold outside

So cold, that the parka has come out of hibernation! I have one question though: Where's the snow? Honestly, if it's going to be this cold (32F/0C) we might as well get a little snow...right?  This parka is the real deal. Made in Canada (Manitoba, to be exact), it is the warmest thing I've ever put on. I got it about 10 years ago at Value Village in Canada (of course) and still get as excited putting it on as the first day I found it! I'm really excited today, not only is it friday but it was also the start of the Target to go shop opening! I made my way there during my lunch break (the perks of living in NYC) and got my hands on 2 Rodarte for Target dresses! I've been eyeing these pieces ever since they announced the launch and couldn't wait to see them up close. The TTG (Target to go) concept is a little funny though. All the items are behind a glass window and all have asigned numbers. You're presented with a clip board with 50 of targets best sel...

Double up

Image
I slept in this morning. Like, really slept in. I got up after my radio alarm had been going off for about 45 minutes. This has been happening alot lately. So in order to get myself to work on time I have to take serious measures. One of the things that I've started doing is making up an outfit in my mind so that when I do finally get my butt out of bed I can reach for said pieces and get going. This morning I wanted to be comfortable, well, looking at the pictures I would say that I'm stating the obvious. For my little spin on it, I doubled up on my scarves. One printed, one solid, together I feel like they make this otherwise plain outfit stand out. Too bad the heat in our office is cranked and I'm down one scarf and no cardigan. I feel like each one of these pictures focuses on different parts of my wardrobe: 1/ scarves, 2/booties, 3/hair bun. I didn't plan it out like that but it sort of works. Only 1 1/2 more days until Atlantic city! This will be my first time goi...

Tuck & Roll

Title options for this post: Where's Winter? Summer in October Pajama Party Bye Bye Fall, Hello Summer I love Pants How Many Pictures is too Many? etc... Since I'm overwhelming you with pictures today I'm going to keep this short. In a continued effort to add more pants to my wardrobe I ventured into H&M yesterday and found this light weight chambray pants on sale for $15! Since the weather in NYC is expected to hit 72 degrees I thought I'd at least get one wear before stashing them away until Spring rolls around. Wait who am i kidding, I'm going to try and extend the wear out of these for as long as I can get away with. Thanks everyone for your opinions/advice on my last post about hair. I think I'm going to just keep it this medium brown for now, but my hairdresser had mentioned something about a "gloss" that would remove the reddish tint to it (that i'm not particularly fond of). Hopefully I'll get around to doing that in the next few we...
