Image
Written By: Ken Hulsey Sources: Robert Hood / Avery Guerra For the last couple of years American independent film makers have caught a major case of the 'Bigfoot Movie Crazies' with at least a dozen movies about the legendary beast being put into production. Now, it seems that the trend has spread across the Pacific to Australia, where low-budget movie maker Cole Bayford has decided to feature the countries own version of Sasquatch in his short film entitled " Yowie ". The film itself is actually a graduate project for the Griffith University Film School: Bachelor of Film and Screen Media Production Program in which Bayford is currently enrolled and is being filmed in actual Yowie country, Springbrook , NSW , a location where the creature has been sighted numerous times over the years. Bayford had this to say about the project, "The themes in Yowie are of young love, jealousy and the ‘what if’. What would you do if you witnessed a death in the bush? Yowie ...

Mr. Lobo Is Set To Begin Production On The Tenth Season Of CINEMA INSOMNIA

MR. LOBO Is Set To Begin Filming The Historic 1oth Season Of CINEMA INSOMNIA ...... With A Little Help From His Freinds And Fans. Written By: Ken Hulsey Source: Mr. Lobo As most of you already know, I am a HUGE fan of the nationally syndicated late-night movie program "Cinema Insomnia" which stars local Sacramento icon, Mr. Lobo and a incredible cast of misfits and monsters, including the shows co-host, the lovely house-plant (yes, I said 'house-plant') Miss Mittens. I actually stumbled upon the program back in 2003, when I purchased a DVD copy of the CI episode, "Gigantis the Fire Monster" (aka 'Godzilla Raids Again) on eBay. At the time, there was no formal DVD release for the often misunderstood "Gojira" sequel, so I took a chance on it. Upon viewing the episode I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. The show was a great tribute to the late-night horror movie showcases of the 1970s and early 80s. You know, back in the day when guys used t...

KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS Being Remade In 3D

Image
Written By: Ken Hulsey Sources: Screen Daily / Avery Guerra Remakes and 3D films are all the rage these days, so is it any surprise that Stealth Media Group has hired Nuala Barton and Rene Sheridan to produce a modern, 3D, version of the 1977 cult film "Kingdom of the Spiders", which originally starred "Star Trek" alumni William Shatner? Of course not. If you recall, the original "Kingdom of the Spiders" was about a small Arizona town (Sedona) that was overrun by thousands of hungry tarantulas. This time around, however, and if the promo poster to the right is any indication, it looks like a major city is set to face an epic infestation of arachnids this time, and not by only tarantulas, but all kinds of creepy crawlers. The two producers made this rather benign comment about their upcoming film, “We are delighted to be working with Stealth Media’s Jason Piette, Sean O’Kelly and Michael Cowan to bring this cult classic back to larger than life, in 3D.” ...
