On Sunday night, as if my weekend hadn't been eventful enough, I met up with my gals at the Brooklyn Bowl for an event called Local x Local. My good friends at Dusty Rose Vintage were selling some of their wares, and it's right in the neighborhood, so why not? It turned into a really fun Sunday night, thanks to this little thing called The BKBooth . Scroll down to see what I mean.  Yup, these are my girls that I usually spend most of my weekends with. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am so lucky to have such a tight knit group of ladies to not only hang out with but to count on when whenever i need it. The gentleman in the white cardigan, the hubby of one friend, was the one that came over on Friday night to assess my cut finger. He drove me to the pharmacy to get some first aid supplies and made sure I was taken care of before leaving. {All in one Sunday} My Sunday started out like any other day. All of my favorite ladies getting together for a brunch in Park Slope (Brooklyn). Just perfect as I hadn't seen a lot of them since before the Holidays so we had some major catching up to do! We all met up at The V-Spot , one of my favorite vegan restaurants. After our brunch, it was the perfect time to get some outfit pictures in. Ladies I tend to spend a lot of time with. We snapped a pic of this cute little dog outside Brooklyn Industry. The poor thing was shivering in the cold. Ok, for those of you who know me, I'm not too fond of dogs, but this little one was really cute! After a quick stop at Beacon's Closet, we hunkered down at some random bar to do more catching up, play a game of darts amd well, be a little to rowdy for the crowd that was into watching football. Just a quick long weekend update for you all before I head out to the park to enjoy some shady tree breeze, snacks and more time with friends. I started my weekend with an outdoor movie in the park on Friday night. There was a screening of "Une Femme est une Femme" by Jean Luc Godard. It's one of his movies that I had not yet seen so I was pretty excited to be catching it on the big screen and in the East Village. Turns out that every Friday night Tompkins Square park is showing some classic film so you'll know where to find me on those nights. Saturday I met up with Nickie in Williamsburg as per our usual weekend shenanigans. Got drinks a little too early, met up with more friends, more drinks, then proceeded to make our way to the East Village once again. Our friends have an amazing rooftop with a great view on NY. Today I got an comment from a reader that said that they love hearing about my adventures in Brooklyn. It's funny because I was just going to post some pictures of my Thursday night out with friends. I usually take my camera out and snap a few pictures at the begining of the night but I sometimes forget to follow through and only end up with say, 1 picture of Nickie eating and a street shot. Not really something post worthy, right? So last night I consciously made an effort to take as many pictures as I could and not annoy the rest of my party. I met up with Nickie after work and made out way to Greenpoint to enjoy a delicious vegan dinner cooked by the lovely folks from Dusty Rose Vintage . I'm not sure if you have seen this already but Absolute just came out with their limited edition Brooklyn vodka. After a pretty busy Saturday of meeting up with friends and going through about 10 different looks for a photoshoot (pics to come soon!), I had every intention of following through with my idea of going to the cherry blossom festival. Although it would've been nicer if I had a date, I have to say it was quite relaxing to just roam among the gardens and take a few pics. The Sakura Matsuri festival was going on and I guess Sunday's theme was anime because I found myself surrounded by young teens dressed as all of these different characters. Quite unexpected. I found that the cherry blossom trees weren't all that exciting, and there was a bunch of booths and events going on that I couldn't take my pictures there like I had expected. When I left you last night I was on my way to *fingers crossed* see the lovely Charlotte Gainsbourg. And well, guess what? We got tickets! She was beautiful and endearing. Yes, more reasons why I love living in Brooklyn. The show ended not too late and I was able to get my butt home around midnight. Not too bad for a gal who works a 9-6pm job. As for my outfit today, I reached for a few casual pieces since I was feeling a wee bit tired. I spiced it up by adding a scarf. Heathered tights are always a fun touch. This also reminds me that I have alot of color in my closet that I haven't been making good use of. ( EDIT : I'm seriously looking for a Vintage pale pink shift dress, preferably in small. (photos taken by Nickie ) Alright, let me do a little weekend recap for you, yes? Friday: As I mentioned in my post I tried to see the Tim Burton Exhibit at the Moma. Well, after the line was wrapped around 3 corners (basically the whole block) I knew my chances of getting in were slim but stuck around anyways. After about 10 minutes someone came around to let us know that the exhibit was sold out. darn. I'm going to have to go some other time, like a random Tuesday or something. I then met up with a friend for drinks at Great Lakes, a local bar here in Park Slope. Saturday: I made my floral headpiece, blogged about it. I finally got a much needed fringe trim so that my hairs weren't poking out my eyeballs anymore. Plus my hairstylist is super duper nice so it's great to see her every month or so and catch up.
