Ma Nouvelle Chemise (and giveaway winner)

{My new shirt} Looking at these pictures, I think I was too tired to smile this morning. But that's how Mondays go. So please forgive me. I think this outfit is my preppy side, which I didn't really know I had in me. But here it is, blue button down shirt and all. I think it's kind of ironic that I look so preppy and then roll up my sleeve to reveal my tattoo. It's probably the only way that I can get away with it without looking too upper west side ( no offense to my friends that live there, I'm just sayin'). Sometimes you just want to switch it up.  Did everyone have a good weekend? I sure did, I didn't even have time to blog! And now, without further adieu, the winner of the Cookies + Creme Giveaway is: M Erica! Congrats! I'll be emailing you shortly! Thanks to everyone that entered. I'm hoping to host more giveaways too, so if you're interested in collaborating on something, please feel free to email me! Outfit: shirt}J.Crew, thrifted via Mon...

Citrouille

With the NY chilly temperatures I had to wear a jacket over this outfit but I couldn't NOT take a picture of the lovely sleeve detail! I even took a back shot to show off the pleating detail. This could possibly be one of my new favorite fall dresses. So things are back on track for me, so naturally things will get a little hectic starting next week. It couldn't very well stay like this now could it? I'm going to be taking a little trip up to Ottawa, ON. to see Quinn (and my sister, bro-in-law, brother, sis-in-law..etc..) You see, my parents are currently in Italy and my sister has a new baby so i thought that I'd step up to the plate and be the awesome aunt that I am and go help her out. I can't imagine how much a little one changes your life. I'm so far removed from that lifestyle that I take the little things for granted, like showering, eating, sleeping in (or just sleeping in general) so yeah, I think next week I'm definitely going to get a reality ch...

Bonjour Automne!

Image
So the brown/black trend continues. I just can't help myself. I wanted something casual so I reached for my sweatshirt and comfy skirt, and these boots just semmed fitting. It's nothing new but sometimes you just need those days of coziness. I told myself that I wouldn't dye my hair anymore (EVER) but I really hated the faded auburn color it was. I had about 1/2 a tube of brown hair dye leftover in my hairsupply cupboard so I decided to just use it up and that would it be it. I'm hoping that this is close to my natural hair color (whatever that is!) so that I won't need to dye it anymore. Oh and today is the first day of Fall! I'd be happier if it wasn't 85 degrees outside but hey it can't last can it? Outfit: sweatshirt}UO tee}gift from ex-bf skirt}H&M boots}Dexter (thrifted via Beacon's Closet)

Don't call it a comeback

I know I never really left but I feel as though I'm back. This summer has been full of crazyness and my work hours were all over the place. Getting to work earlier than usual but then going out after meant late nights and minimal sleep. All of this basically being an excuse to be lazy with my outfits and uninspired. But with September right around the corner I see a brand new version of me (well, maybe just a little modified) and lots of new outfit combinations with maybe a few new items. I've been on a shopping budget ever since I started my tattoo and that will have to continue until it's finished so thrifting it is! Good thing that I have an upcoming trip to Ottawa over labor day weekend and sneak in some much needed Value Village time.  Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine included drinks with friends, laundry and cleaning and even a little gardening (you'll see that in this week's outfit posts) and being an extra for a music video. That last one is so very r...

Tuck & Roll

Title options for this post: Where's Winter? Summer in October Pajama Party Bye Bye Fall, Hello Summer I love Pants How Many Pictures is too Many? etc... Since I'm overwhelming you with pictures today I'm going to keep this short. In a continued effort to add more pants to my wardrobe I ventured into H&M yesterday and found this light weight chambray pants on sale for $15! Since the weather in NYC is expected to hit 72 degrees I thought I'd at least get one wear before stashing them away until Spring rolls around. Wait who am i kidding, I'm going to try and extend the wear out of these for as long as I can get away with. Thanks everyone for your opinions/advice on my last post about hair. I think I'm going to just keep it this medium brown for now, but my hairdresser had mentioned something about a "gloss" that would remove the reddish tint to it (that i'm not particularly fond of). Hopefully I'll get around to doing that in the next few we...

Idee goes Wild (as a Mink)

Image
Oh my, Fall has definitely arrived in NYC! It's gotten considerably colder over the past few days and this week's high is not even near the 60's! Time to break out the layers, coats, hats and mitts. Yes, I love this time of year. I've been busy knitting up a storm and will have some new knitted things up in my Etsy shop this week. I think I might try to update it every 2 weeks, which to me, is totally manageable. As much as I love Fall, there's someone who loves it more than me. My friend, and fellow blogger Nickie who blogs at:  Wild as a Mink  is full on ready for this season. Today I took style inspiration from a look that she masters. The short dirndl skirt, paired with a casual top and of course, accessorized with a chain necklace. Kind of what she did here , and a summer version of it here . I mention Nickie alot in my posts but honestly, we spend so much time together that its hard not to! Its really nice to have a friend that understands the "blogging w...

Mother Nature

This outfit was built around my new shoes! I love them so much even though they look a little granny-ish. Well, I guess you could say that that's right up my alley.  I think they'll go great with many vintage dresses currently hanging in my closet as well, so I'm sure they'll be making some appearances in future posts! Today I'm going for a Fall theme. Trying to keep it neutral after all the color I've worn this week. I figure sometime's I need to tone it down. Hope you can appreciate that even though I'm known for my colorful wardrobe. Well thank you to everyone who's entered the giveaway so far(see below post)!! I'm happy to see that my little knitty things are in demand. I need to start knitting alot more as today's weather is definitely knit hat weather. Anyways, good luck to you all and i'm excited to find out who's the lucky person next Saturday! You've seen these items here before: Have a good weekend everyone. Outfit: Pant...

80 degrees & overcast

Image
I don't have that much to talk about today. I've been busy the last few nights completing a few little projects. I think you might be seeing one very soon, like in the next day or so. Stay tuned. This outfit was my comfty, can't think too hard as to what to put together today. I started with the printed tank than thought about layering on a cardigan only to hear that it was 80 degrees and humid (what?? I thought we were past that crazy weather??!) so I grabbed a lighter-weight pinstripe grey shirt instead. I threw the boots on because they were calling for rain...and well, it is September isn't it? Officially Fall. Outfit: Skirt}Kensie Top}Forever 21 Shirt}Forever 21 Belt}vintage
