Yes, Accessorize!

Image
Yes, Accessorize! By Tammy Ussery You have found your dream prom dress, now what? Now it is time to coordinate what is arguably the most important step of your prom ensemble- The accessories! Fabulous prom dress shops that carry everything from the dresses and accessories to undergarment accessories are ideal for one-stop shopping. Accessorizing your perfect dress with hair, makeup, shoes and accessories is the last step, and arguably the most exciting one! Let the fun begin! One of the most thrilling parts of putting together an ensemble is hair. One basic rule of matching hair to a dress is an up-do for halter and one-shoulder necklines and hair down for strapless and spaghetti strap. Up-do's are generally expected for dresses that include the neck in the design, like halter and one-shoulder necklines, simply because having the hair down can muddle the design and crowd the neck space. The right up-do for you and your dress can vary greatly. You might want a glamorous up-do with a...

The Mystical Feeling of Having Red Pumps

Image
The Mystical Feeling of Having Red Pumps By Annette Whitely Aside from diamonds, shoes are considered one of a girl's best friends. The fascination of shoes ranges from various types like the steel hell, wedge, peep toe, pumps and the like. The styles also vary from strappy sandals to close and corporate shoes. Womens attraction towards shoes is also an investment in terms of purchasing brands like Chanel, Prada, Christian Louboutin, YSL and many more. Shoes complete the whole get up. Just like accessories they add style and glamor. The most commonly used and allured shoe type are red pumps. Aside from the seductive color, red color compliments the red carpet feeling when a woman wears it. It is undeniably that wearing red highlights the feeling of supremacy and elegance. Red shoes are attractive and most of all can catch much attention. The vibrant and fiery color of the shoes shows off the confidence that is within the person that wears it. It is important that a woman is comfort...

Five Questions Friday- round 2

Image
I have such a hard time sifting through all the fantastic questions you have! Grrr, it's so hard to not just email you back with my answers right away! I really do hope you all don't mind me taking my time in answering these. Here's this weeks: 1. What is the one pair of shoes you couldn't live without? It's funny but I never thought of myself as a shoe person. Yeah I have a few but I don't really go seeking shoes and then when I find myself not having any cute new shoes to wear I'll go buy 2 or 3 pairs (4 or 5 if thrifting) all at once! If I had to choose one pair it would be my Dexter boots that I found not too long ago. I feel comfortable wearing them and they go will practically anything I own. Although, my grey Jeffrey Campbells are by far the most popular on this blog! 2. How often do you go shopping? I probably shop once a week. I don't really schedule a time for it. I'll randomly pop in a shop on my way home from work or after having lunch wi...

La Petite Parisienne

Noun 1. Parisienne - a female native or resident of Paris capital of France, City of Light, French capital, Paris - the capital and largest city of France; and international center of culture and commerce Parisian - a native or resident of Paris First of all, thank you for your comments and encouragement on yesterday's post! It's so nice to hear that alot of people could relate to my outfit situation and that sometimes it's just all in your head and you just have to get past it.  I made an extra effort to look pulled together this morning by preparing my outfit last night. Now sometimes this has backfired on me for a few reasons: 1. The weather can be unpredictable and that chiffon skirt that I planned on wouldn't hold up in the downpour. 2. My mood can quickly change from being dressy to casual. 3. What I come up with in mind doesn't always pan out once everything is on. Luckily today actually worked and I was very happy with the outcome! It's a mix of items th...

Mother Nature

Image
This outfit was built around my new shoes! I love them so much even though they look a little granny-ish. Well, I guess you could say that that's right up my alley.  I think they'll go great with many vintage dresses currently hanging in my closet as well, so I'm sure they'll be making some appearances in future posts! Today I'm going for a Fall theme. Trying to keep it neutral after all the color I've worn this week. I figure sometime's I need to tone it down. Hope you can appreciate that even though I'm known for my colorful wardrobe. Well thank you to everyone who's entered the giveaway so far(see below post)!! I'm happy to see that my little knitty things are in demand. I need to start knitting alot more as today's weather is definitely knit hat weather. Anyways, good luck to you all and i'm excited to find out who's the lucky person next Saturday! You've seen these items here before: Have a good weekend everyone. Outfit: Pant...
