La Soirée à venir

First of all, thanks for all the birthday wishes! And bonus points for those of you who said I don't look my age! (much love!) This is what I'm wearing for tonight's Fashion Night Out. I tried on a few options last night just so that I'd be sure I'd be happy with what I decided on. It's kind of stressful dressing for these events and I'm sure for those out-of -towners it must be nearly impossible! I can never decide what way to go, vintage? trendy? casual? dressy? blah blah blah.... so yeah. Easy, simple dress, opaque tights, my geisha-like shoes, a smart looking blazer, and clyde's rebirth necklace for uber coolness. I'm pretty excited for all the events that we've decided to hit up, Jessica Stam at Rachel Roy, Karen Elson at Balenciaga,  Male models at Gant ( why not?!) ending in Brooklyn for Market Publique's Pop up shop. Should be fun, and I can't wait to finally meet up with some bloggers! Outfit: dress}UO (thrifted via Beacon's...

Playing with Proportions

Just so you all know, I'm a day behind in outfit posts and have been scheduling my posts to show up the next day. So right now as I'm writting this it's about 10:35pm on Wednesday, and i'm listening to some of my favorite songs, wishing that I could go out to some dance party and not have to work tomorrow. However that said, when you read this, it'll be Thursday and you'll just be waking up and starting your day and also wishing that it was Friday! This jacket is one of the coolest finds I've ever come across. I love the print, and the style, however I think it's a little too big for me. So don't be surprised if it shows up in the Blog Shop in the next week or two as I think it'll look stellar on a size 8 or even 10 frame. For me, it feels like I'm swimming in it. My first instinct is to pair it with some skinny jeans or a tight skirt but I wanted to try something new and went with this flowy skirt instead. With the combination of the belt a...

Le Geek, c'est chic!

(featured item: 60's olive green crop wool jacket  ) I was planning on doing a super mega update post but after spending half of my time uploading and cropping and "prettyfying" my pictures, I barely have enough energy to write. I'm working off of 4 hours sleep here and 2 flights in two days and a full work day. Good thing I have these pre-outfit shots to post or else you'd be seeing me in the hotel provided bathrobe i'm curently sporting. Thank god.... Another great thing (aside from plush hotel bathrobes) is that the hotel I'm staying at has free internet so I can blog to my hearts content! Maybe I'll even have a current outfit post for you tomorrow!! Spending the last week with friends and family and now this week with coworkers, I''ve been getting alot of: So you're doing : "insert random event or outing here. I saw your blog." I can't help but cringe, or wait, maybe it's more of a embarrassed (but not really) feeling?...

2 for 1 outfit

I always run into this problem in the fall/winter and I'd like to know if anyone else has this similar issue. See, I have alot of long cardigans that I love layering my outfits with, but once I'm out the door I tend to have a shorter jacket and that leaves my cardigan hanging out the bottom. Perfect example today, I have this super cute bunny cardigan from kensiegirl (yes, those are bunnies!) but then as soon as I put on my jacket, I felt it looked a little funny having it so much longer. My solution was to take the cardigan off, stuff it in my bag, then wear my jacket and change at work. Kind of a pain, but what else can I do? The weather isn't cold enough yet to break out the longer coats. So this explains to two sets of pictures taken this morning. The first with my cardigan, then the second with my jacket sans cardigan. I also want to let all my new readers know about my very first giveaway that's currently going on. You can read about it here . You have until Frid...
