First of all I want to thank everyone that commented on my Popeye tattooed arm from yesterday's post. It's actually pretty normal for skin to swell up but I put ice on it after taking that picture and the swelling was gone the next day. Now all I have to do is keep moisturizing as it heals. I won't be going for another session for another 3 weeks (have other plans in the works) so I guess this will be it for a little while. It's funny to be able to see the progress throughout this blog. I never thought I'd be keeping a tattoo log but I guess it works. So this outfit is nothing new, unfortunately I woke up in a bit of a fog on Monday morning and just couldn't decide on anything. I'm already looking forward to Fall and trying to decide on what items I want to stock up in my wardrobe. Of course, it probably won't be time for that for another 2 months or so, but whatever, a girl can dream. *Oh and I'm thinking it's time for a hair post real soon, so ...

I think I might have possibly jinxed my weekend by laying it all out for you on Friday. I ended up not doing more than half the things I set out to do but in the end I still had fun. This is what I wore on Sunday when we were planning on going to the Waterfront theatre in Williamsburg to catch a free show. Well, we needed to stop for food, and then once we were finally on our way, it started pouring down on us. So of course, that was a bust. We retreated to some dive bar then moved on to another one where we met up with some other friends. The night ended watching the season premiere of Mad Men, of which I'll probably not watch again this season due to not owning a TV. But that's ok, I rather watch them all consecutively anyway. When I was in my teens I was kind of obssessed with butterflies. I know, I know, which girl wasn't. But my love for buterflies, I believe, stemmed from seeing this lady in this movie. Ok, if you don't want to click on the links, I'll tell you, when I saw Drew Barrymore in Mad Love (which came out in 1995), I was madly in love with the dress that she sees in the window of a little store and then Chris O'Donnell goes and buys it for her!? Ah! Swoon. Ok, you're probably asking why I'm taking you down memory lane of the 90's. It all comes back to this top that I saw on Modcloth ! The chiffon, the butterfly print, the ruched arms...it's the closest thing I'll ever get to that amazing dress that has apparently marked me for life. I knew right away that I was going to wear it with this skirt. What I wasn't ready for is that I haven't really worn this skirt sans tights and well, it's short, tight, and red???! Ugh, bad call Mel! { I actually forgot to write a title last night, and only realized this morning! oops !} Alright, it's already Friday! I can't believe I survived this week. Well, almost. As I write this it's only Thursday night but I'm just thinking of all the things I'm up to this weekend, it's going to be quite packed. Friday afternoon i'm finally getting more outline done on my tattoo. Yes, it's not nearly done and I still have hours of pain to go in order to get my "silly little drawings" completed! I know that everyone has their own opinions about tattoo's and why people get them is all a very personal reason but I don't really get the whole leaving anonymous comments on someone's blog about how they'd be prettier without tattoo's. Really? Is that even necessary? I don't usually voice any strong opinions on here (try to keep it all happy & positive) and I certainly don't shove my tattoos in anyone's face so I just wonde...

I have to make this a super quick post but I'm pretty proud to say that this total outfit cost me just under $20. And no, it's not ALL from value Village! It's actualy three different thrift stores, and Value Village is one of them. I've been lacking in wearing my vintage clothes for a while but I'm back at it again. I gave myself the challenge this week to finally wear some of the stuff i've been buying and have not worn yet. You know, a .50$ top here, a $5 skirt there. That sort of thing. Nothing too excessive. Oh and yes, I finally got a new tattoo. It's not even close to done yet but I fair amount of outline was done on Sunday and I'm super duper excited to get it finished! Just a super quick post before I run out the door. I think when I don't know that to wear in the mornings, this is my go to: dress, cardigan, boots. Especially when you don't know what the weather will be like. Anyways, with these warmer temperatures, you can't help but show a little more skin (I said, just a LITTLE more) and with that, the tattoo's come out. So yeah, these are them. Both of them are Japanese inspired and very colorful since I still wanted to be my girly self. I've had my arm tattoo for over 7 years now and my back was done just over 3 years now ( i think). It took me forever to finish, mainly because i'd only go for about 2 hours at a time and it probably took over 10hrs to finish! haha. I need to toughen up a little. And i'm not sure why, but my hair seems to be getting darker and you can barely tell that I dyed it! wtf?
