She wears her pearls on her sleeve

Image
I'm excited to show you all this lovely cardigan that I bought used my credit over at Beacon's over the weekend. It's exactly what I've been looking for in terms of pastels and embellishments. It's absolutely beautiful and so soft and cuddly! It's made in Scotland exclusively for Saks Fifth Avenue and is of 100% pure cashmere. Hence the super softness! It's no surprise that I kept the color pallette Ivory and Black as I've mentioned before this is one of my favorite combinations. The best part is the pearls and beads placed on the shoulders. I'm sure you've seen newer versions of this done at H&M and Topshop right now. So yesterday I took a little trip (o.k, walked two blocks) to visit the Seychelles showroom to review their Spring and Summer 2010 collection. They, of course, have an aray of beautiful vintagey looking heels as well as a few practical everyday shoes that I want to keep on the lookout for. They had an OPI manicurist on site th...

Back in Time

Image
After a very busy week, I finally caught up on some sleep and woke up refreshed and ready for Friday. I even had time to take two sets of pictures, have breakfast and coffee, and still manage to get to work on time.Don't let these pictures deceive you, even though the sun was shining it was cold and windy for my little morning photoshoot. I decided to wear this drop waist tweed dress that I picked up a few months ago at Beacon's Closet in park Slope. It was brand new with tags for $10. How could I not? That is why I love Beacon's, they don't overprice their items no matter how new or what brand they might be. The dress itself is a little more "preppy" than my usual so I played it up with my navy tights and brown booties. The cardigan was necessary since the dress is sleveless. My outerwear look consists of my french terry jacket that I've had forever. It's the perfect comfty jacket and not too hot for train commutes. The cloche hat is my newest cheap p...

Tuck & Roll

Title options for this post: Where's Winter? Summer in October Pajama Party Bye Bye Fall, Hello Summer I love Pants How Many Pictures is too Many? etc... Since I'm overwhelming you with pictures today I'm going to keep this short. In a continued effort to add more pants to my wardrobe I ventured into H&M yesterday and found this light weight chambray pants on sale for $15! Since the weather in NYC is expected to hit 72 degrees I thought I'd at least get one wear before stashing them away until Spring rolls around. Wait who am i kidding, I'm going to try and extend the wear out of these for as long as I can get away with. Thanks everyone for your opinions/advice on my last post about hair. I think I'm going to just keep it this medium brown for now, but my hairdresser had mentioned something about a "gloss" that would remove the reddish tint to it (that i'm not particularly fond of). Hopefully I'll get around to doing that in the next few we...

Inside Out

Image
Before you start disecting my outfit with a microscopic lens, no, I am NOT wearing anything inside out as my post title suggests. It is referring to my morning outfit pictures. I did my usual routine of snapping my pics outside in my backyard. Once I got in I proceeded to grab my coat, hat and change into my boots since the weather is pretty disgusting (and will be all weekend...nooooooo!!!!!). Once I was just about ready to head out the door I decided that this "Outerwear" outfit was just too good NOT to document. Honestly, it usually doesn't turn out this way. So here are the sequence of pictures Inside AND Out. First off, we have my indoor outfit taken outdoors. I did not wear these shoes or attempt to as my job absolutely does NOT require heels of this caliber (ever). I wore them because, well to tell you the truth, would you look at how long my legs appear!!!?? Honestly, if I had ankles of steel and balance like a tightrope walker I'd sport these babies everyday....

Enchantment

I'm not sure if I'll be posting my outfit today. You see, it's already 1:30pm and I'm still in my housewear which includes a gray AA Deep V tee and leggings. My bangs are all over the place, I think it's due to sleeping on my stomach. So I give you pictures I took a few weeks back for a weardrobe contest, for which I did not win. I did like how the pictures came out though. Today involves giving my apartment a major overhaul. I'm going to go through some clothing and see if it's about that time to drop some off at Beacon's Closet. Oh, I just remembered I still have a store credit there! Major plus as I'm a little broke at this time and any shopping is out of the question. I also want to finish knitting a few items to post up on my Etsy, which I opened then kind of forgot about. I have to stop getting involved in all these things that I have no time for. These kind of things are usually what my weekend entails. I start it off by making a huge pot of c...
