{Little red shoes} Yup, you guessed it more pictures from the weekend. As you can tell, we had a really gorgeous one! On Sunday a bunch of us got together and hit up the Brooklyn Bowl for an afternoon of bowling fun. I must say, I beat all of them with my awesome bowling skills and looked stylish doing with with my vintage bowling shoes from Japan. Yes, I take bowling a little seriously. But anyways, before leaving the house, Veronika worked a little magic with my hair and did this beautiful french braid side up do thingy. I like. {Little Doll} After yesterday's rant about my hair, I knew that today I had to do something about my situation. I had an idea to bring out the heat rollers that I use to use before I got all layer crazy with my hair. Just a few minutes to heat up, roll them up in my hair, leave them in while getting ready for work, then take them out at the very last minute once they're all cooled down. {The Lost Outfit} If you paid close attention to these pics you'd have realized that they're not recent. Nope, I took these back in November and never posted them! Well, since the weather has been all rain, slush and snow these past few weeks, this comes as a welcome surprise as I haven't exactly been pulling out all stops with my outfits. Since this sweater already creates so much volume, my thought process was to pull back the hair in order to balance everything out. I haven't worn my hair like this is a very long time. {A feather in your hair} Another outfit from last week. There's a few things I want to talk about about concerning this outfit: 1. The feather headband was a gift from Elizabeth from Delightfully Tacky . A few of us Delightful Dozen girls decided to do a little Secret Santa exchange and funny enough, Elizabeth and I had each other! I sent her a cute pink knitted headband and she sent me 2 of these amazing feather headbands. The colors of this one matched my outfit just perfectly. {Fishtail braid} I'm finally back on the Delightful Dozen train. It seems to go in waves as we're all very busy bloggers and well, styling things up is sometimes hard work! This is me modeling Annie's romper. Yes, it's a romper ! Cute right? I didn't take a back shot, because well, I want you to come back so i'll save you the behind the scenes shots. Just take my word for it that this cute little number is in fact a romper. I knew exactly how I wanted to style it up the second I got it (yesterday). Now if only all of my clothes would be this easy. Oh and this is my first attempt at a fishtail braid. I know it kind of looks like a regular braid, I realized that the key to getting a nice "fishtail" look is to grab smaller pieces. When I was in my teens I was kind of obssessed with butterflies. I know, I know, which girl wasn't. But my love for buterflies, I believe, stemmed from seeing this lady in this movie. Just a really simple and cool ( as in breezy) outfit for today. I'm not going to go on about the heat but just so you know, it's the reason why my hair is up. I don't particularly like it this way. I've actually always been way more into my hair color and hairstyles than my outfit and personal style. I remember the first time I got it cut from when I was growing it out really long because all of my friends were into the long hair. Oh boy, from there it actually just got shorter and weirder. I know i've talked about my hair before and you guys have asked for pictures but unfortunately I don't have any with me here in NYC. They're all boxed up in my parent's basement for the time being since I seem to move as often as I changed my hair color in high school.  I've decided to let you all in on what I use in my hair and add some tidbits that I've discovered along the way. I'm not a hairstylist, or a hair product sales person so this is basically just my own opinions and point of view. My hair. It's a medium thickness and gets a little wavy. It's been color treated ever since 7th grade so I'm not sure what my natural hair color is but right now it's a auburny-brown color. Since it's on the longer side and a little thick I got really lazy about washing it as the drying time took way too much time. Because of this I've now worked it down to a 2 day washing schedule (Wednesday & Sundays). So what I do on my off days is use a shower cap (thicker than the ones given at hotels) that cuts out the moisture and then occasionally i'll wash my bangs over the sink. I'll use some dry shampoo by the 3rd day and work a little more product into it. I use a imitation boar bristle brush that distributes the oils ...
