Although this outfit doesn't reflect it, I have some pretty exciting news to share! Modcloth has named me one of their Blogger of the Moment ! I've honestly been a fan of Modcloth ever since I started blogging so this is a huge honor. You can check out the interview  I did with them up on their blog. In honor of this title, they've named this adorable little romper after my blog! It's absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to wear it out this Summer as soon as it starts to warm up. The print is even prettier in person and has that vintage look to it which I'm totally into. So this was Friday's outfit. I realize that I need more casual clothes. I never go for basics like tee's, tanks or plain tops in general when shopping. I'm much more attracted to the printed, complicated, fitted items that you just don't feel like wearing on a casual Friday or weekend. On this particular day, while looking for one of these casual items I remembered that I have this top from Starr via our Deligthful Dozen crew. It's super soft and worked perfectly with these pants. I've had it ever since the blogger meet ups were going down during NYFW. I got to meet up with Starr and a few others outside of the conferences, and parties and just got to hang out, have some drinks in a grungy bar in the East Village and really just get to know each other without any "networking" or "blogger" stuff going on. So the brown/black trend continues. I just can't help myself. I wanted something casual so I reached for my sweatshirt and comfy skirt, and these boots just semmed fitting. It's nothing new but sometimes you just need those days of coziness. I told myself that I wouldn't dye my hair anymore (EVER) but I really hated the faded auburn color it was. I had about 1/2 a tube of brown hair dye leftover in my hairsupply cupboard so I decided to just use it up and that would it be it. I'm hoping that this is close to my natural hair color (whatever that is!) so that I won't need to dye it anymore. Oh and today is the first day of Fall! Here's a super laid back casual outfit for you. I forgot about these pants and decided that they're very summer appropriate being cotton and cropped. Obviously I don't feel like getting dressed up everyday and yesterday was just one of those days. Tonight, right after work I'm heading over to Madison Square Garden, which is just a few blocks from where I work to see Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers in concert. Of course I'm meeting up with Nickie first because who else is more rock & roll than I am and that would have been on the ball and bought tickets in advance? I know what you're thinking, this outfit is so..basic. But honestly, I do have days where I just want to wear jeans and a tee-shirt. Now since it's 90 degree weather right now, I went for jean shorts (cut below the knee and cuffed) and a tank. I added the pinstripe shirt on top to cover my crusty tattoo. Yup, still healing, so no close up pictures yet. Welcome to round two of the  "What to Wear" series. For round one I did What to Wear...to the office. You can check it out here . This time, I wanted to show some outfits that I think are totally appropriate for running errands and running about when those busy days strike us. I had these saved in a folder titled, Errands, in no particular order. As I was trying to pick out the key items that I thought would work for such a task, the was definitely a trend that became apparent in all pictures. Here's the recipe for a fool proof outfit while running errands: 1. Hat : Because you've got alot to do and can't waste it on your hair. 2. Jeans : Yes, not everyone has been boycotting pants. 3. Cross shoulder bag/totes : Because being hands free is so much easier, especially when lugging groceries home. 4. Just a quick post to show you what I wore on Friday. It was a jeans and t-shirt kind of day but a dressed it up with a new cardigan and printed scarf. After work I headed out to Babycakes for my fill of cookie & cream sandwishes and brownie cupcakes...all vegan of course! Since I haven't yet decided if i'm going to post Wednesday's outfit on my blog, I am grateful to have a backup outfit already photographed and ready to post! You see, after talking to some of the other bloggers who take their pics out in public I thought I'd be brave and take my tripod to work and snap a few pics on the street. Big mistake, people were stopping just as I was setting up my tripod, I ran into our printer tech guy adn awkwardly said hi, and then the shop where I was taking pictures in front of suddenly opened for business and ruined my chances at getting a decent shot. Today I'm not planning on going anywhere. I have plenty of things on my to do list and none of them require me to step out that front door. Thank goodness because I just really want sometime to stay home and get to work on a few projects. But, since I had a few spare moments (ok.. procrastinating) I decided to put together a casual weekend outfit that I would wear if I were to leave the house. When I left you last night I was on my way to *fingers crossed* see the lovely Charlotte Gainsbourg. And well, guess what? We got tickets! She was beautiful and endearing. Yes, more reasons why I love living in Brooklyn. The show ended not too late and I was able to get my butt home around midnight. Not too bad for a gal who works a 9-6pm job. As for my outfit today, I reached for a few casual pieces since I was feeling a wee bit tired. I spiced it up by adding a scarf. Heathered tights are always a fun touch. As I stated in my hair post, today was a day off (Martin Luther king day). I wanted to take this day to actually dress down. What a funny concept it is to make an effort to wear jeans. I think we're a rare breed us ladies that love to dress up. At the same time this is what I love about the blogosphere, I know i'm not alone and alot of you that visit my blog is because you feel exactly the same. I love you gals. I haven't worn my hair straight in a while. I feel like I look different today, maybe? Well another casual layered look today since I'm still in holiday mode even though I've been working these past two days. I took these pictures using my new handy remote, thanks to my dad's smart thinking this christmas. I still need to get used to it but it sure is alot less stressful than pressing the self-timer, running to my spot, then making sure I'm ready( nipped and tucked) and then smiling all in ten seconds. So after two delayed flights, waiting for the train in New Jersey, then cabbing it to Brooklyn from Penn station because I was too exhausted to take the subway, last night was definitely an early one. The good thing is that I have today off to get all the little things done, like get some food, maybe unpack, and do a little alterations from my new thrifted finds. Nothing too exciting. Nothing too special to report but I thought I'd post my "traveling" outfit since that's pretty much what I've been living in the past couple of days. I'm a firm believer in comfort when I fly. I pull out all of my comfty clothes, like leggings, drapy cardigans and tanks. I was feeling a little plain so I threw on this tie that I picked up at the Salvation Army right before leaving. I liked the floral print and thought, why not? It adds a little something printed to the mix. I'm currently staying at my cousins house for a couple days and spending time visiting some family that I only get to see about twice a year. Although it can get a little hectic at times, she has two boys, one 4 yrs and the other not even 2, this is the time of year to make all of the rounds and expect a little chaos from my otherwise quiet Brooklyn life. I would like to point out that this is the reason why I usually don't post on weekends. My outfits consists of slouchy, comfty, relaxed items. I grab whatever I see and pile on pieces until an outfit is created. For today's 60 degree weather in NY, I decided to go with a summer romper, paired with tights and a slouchy cardigan. Keeping with the same neutral colors I felt that it hid the fact that I was going for comfort over style.  All I did today was walk up on 5th Ave here in Park Slope to wander into the shops filled with local designer duds as well as a few vintage stores, ending with Beacon's Closet.
