Dans le soleil

Hi guys! I thought I'd just pop in to let you know that I'm alive and well. New York had an amazing weekend weather wise, a little chilly, jacket and tights weather, but super sunny. It was absolutely gorgeous that I spent most of it outdoors. No, not the great outdoors like camping and stuff like that, geez, I haven't gone camping in ages but I did manage to run some errands on Saturday and ended up walking everywhere I had to go. Although sometimes I do wish I had a car, it's kind of nice to not be driving everywhere and end up taking a 2 hour walk on a sunny afternoon. Today I spent the day making a French lentil soup and updating a few things for my blog. Expect to see a few changes around here in the next few days. It's been in the works for a while but now I feel like I really need to get it done. I guess i'm just excited that it's a new month and that new projects are beginning. *Also, updated the blog shop a few days ago in case you wanted to take a...

Put her in neutrals

Image
As with most of the blog world, I've been coveting any sort of pale, pastel items for this Spring/Summer season. Although I've kept to mint green and corals as my primary go- tos's, I'm hesitant to try full on pink. I'm not sure why put I just don't end up with alot of pink items in my wardrobe. Enter, the Delightful Dozen . The most wonderful and kindest person you'll ever get to know, Tieka, from Selective Potential put this skirt up for grabs in our DD  ongoing swap. Of course, I snatched it up and a second and wore it the very next day I received it. Making sure to style it up differently than the original owner's post, I went all neutral. It just so happened that I received this ring, purchased from Clyde's Rebirth on the same day  and it went perfectly with my pink/neutral theme outfit. Wait, did I mention my Bocce heels  were also received on Monday?!(ok I was away last week which means that I received everything on Monday) but that's bes...

Low Luv x Erin Wasson aztec ring Giveaway!

Image
{This giveaway is now closed, thank you to all who entered!} I know that giveaways are far and few between on this blog, but that's just the way it goes when I'm super picky about who I want to partner with and what I want to offer my readers. That said, when I received an email from the folks over at Designer Apparel  I was curious to see what they had in mind. Designer Apparel is a fashion/beauty shopping search engine that has any designer brand & accessories that you're looking for right at your fingertips. They give you the option to shop by designers like Marc Jacobs , BCBG and Miu Miu , to store, or even down to a specific item. When I saw this Low Luv x Erin Wasson aztec ring , I grew giddy with excitement. You see it's not even the fact that Erin Wasson being the uber cool model of the moment is behind this jewelry line, but the aztec design is so right up my alley! In fact, when my parents were down in the mayan riviera earlier this...

elle porte du noir

You're witnessing a very rare occasion. I'm wearing Black. But I think it's funny that I can't even follow through with black tights or boots, I have to incorporate my standard earth tones. I remember sometime at work, I was sitting in a meeting with a buyer and she was always buying everything black. Black or Purple cardigan? Black. Pink or Black dress? Black. Always black. She then said that if a shopper is faced with the option to buy color or buy black, 98% will go for the Black. Well, automatically I thought, i'm that 2%! I always go for color and then I get home and realize that everything I own is color! I'm ok with this as I feel like blending all these colors together just makes me feel alot more creative. And there you have it. My thought process on wearing so much color.  This standard black dress was perfect for showcasing my other Clyde's Rebirth custom piece. This necklace is hard core and I love the wooden panther ? (maybe its a leopard, i...

Une deuxième chance

Image
I rushed through my pictures this morning (this morning being Tuesday as I write this) and knew that I wasn't going to be happy with them enough to post. This was actually on my mind all day and I was trying to figure out a way to still schedule an outfit post as I truly feel like I've been lacking in that department. I think it's the change in weather that's been throwing me for a loop. I really can't adjust to the seasons so quickly and spend so much time in the morning contemplating what is appropriate to wear! Anyways, back to my conundrum of an outfit post, as I was walking home from work tonight, I noticed that the sun was just about getting ready to set and I was probably able to get a few more quick shots in if I really hauled it home from the train station. So that's exactly what I did. I find the light to be so much prettier at dusk but it's leaving it to chance that I'll actually be home at time to start this new photo shoot routine. I had ano...

It's Raining?

Image
I have alot to say about this outfit today so please, just bear with me... I'm quite surprised at how these pictures turned out considering it was raining a little when I was snapping away. I came out geared with my camera wrapped in a plastic bag with only the lens visible. I thought they'd be all grey or gloomy. Oh how we bloggers sacrifice... First of all, I am not going to take credit for this outfit. While browsing through an old (ish) People magazine yesterday I saw a picture of the most adorable Carey Mulligan and beau Shia and she was dressed just like this. She even had a headband on. I thought to myself, wow, she looks so comfty! I was jealous and wanted to recreate the look asap. So that's where this outfit was created.                                            ...
