A Man's Closet, Part 1 - The Basics

Image
A Man's Closet, Part 1 - The Basics By Frank K Siciliano The vast majority of men hate shopping. Not just a little bit, either. A brief perusal through the annals of history show men who have scheduled root canals, knee surgery, late days at work, and a myriad of other unpleasantries just to avoid a five-minute hop to the clothing store for a pair of pants to replace the pair of pants with the hole in the pocket (which no one can see, so no big deal, right?). I know you have jeans, sweats, and t-shirts in your closet, but how about the proof that you can clean up nicely once in a while? Most men rely on their significant others or members of their family to stock their closet for that. They too, however, may require some guidance. Whether you are making that trip to mall, or they are, here's the shopping list: 1. Navy Blue Suit - Yes, navy. Not black. Navy. The black suit is for weddings and funerals, and even in those cases, you can get away with navy. It's nice to own a ...

Lost in Paisley

I'm going through one of those phases where I hate all of my clothes. Sorry, don't tell them I said that. I'm just done with everything I own and am not sure what I want to move on to. This phase can be dangerous for a few reasons: the first being that you have to suffer through my experimenting with different styles while i'm in the process of figuring it out. And second, this will likely cause me to get rid of everything I own which I may or may not regret later on. i dunno. Maybe i'll hold of a little bit before I get into extremes and dump my whole closet at the Salvation Army. Oh boy, wouldn't they have a field day. Not that i'm saying all of my clothes are great, it's just the sheer volume of my wardrobe could probably fill up the whole store. Enough rambling. I decided to make a little remix of how I wore these items in the past (remember when I used to do this regularly?i'm trying to get back into it)          ...

Hidden in my closet

Image
Believe it or not, I do have a few items in my closet that I've had for years. Case in point this Earl Jeans shirt, Roxy (yes as in Quiksilver's sister brand) jeans and Aldo turquoise moccasins. I've been holding onto the shirt because I'm in love with the print. It's kind of "japanese" looking (at least that's what I think) and for those who know me, its right up my alley. For those you don't, let me explain that I have a Geisha tattoo on my back, well, the right side of my back actually, maybe more on that later. The jeans on the otherhand, I'm not really sure why I still have these considering how often I purge my closet. There's something about them that I just can't give up, maybe the fact that they still fit me after all these years?. The moccasins, although I don't wear these as often as I should, speak for themselves. They're cute right? I also have the same pair in yellow. Since they don't take that much room in my ...

Enchantment

I'm not sure if I'll be posting my outfit today. You see, it's already 1:30pm and I'm still in my housewear which includes a gray AA Deep V tee and leggings. My bangs are all over the place, I think it's due to sleeping on my stomach. So I give you pictures I took a few weeks back for a weardrobe contest, for which I did not win. I did like how the pictures came out though. Today involves giving my apartment a major overhaul. I'm going to go through some clothing and see if it's about that time to drop some off at Beacon's Closet. Oh, I just remembered I still have a store credit there! Major plus as I'm a little broke at this time and any shopping is out of the question. I also want to finish knitting a few items to post up on my Etsy, which I opened then kind of forgot about. I have to stop getting involved in all these things that I have no time for. These kind of things are usually what my weekend entails. I start it off by making a huge pot of c...
